About 8 years ago, I started writing about what I love - tech.
The reason back in the day was simple.
I had a lot of experience with tech.
And I wanted to write about it.
But eventually, that simple goal turned into an ambition -
I wanted to build a platform, a publication, insert xyz synonym - so here we are.
Posts on Facebook Groups,
To a blog on Medium,
Then to Wix,
Then to a custom site,
and now on Substack.
For Those Who Know
But why here? why now?
Thing is, in 2025, with the rise of AI spam and SEO farms - it has become impossible to surface to the folks who would love reading what we write.
The only reliable way to get to you.
Is to move to YOUR inbox.
Yes, that works, email is still king.
And hence, after carefully examining a lot of options, Substack was the default option to finally make the move to.
See, SK NEXUS is a passion project hence it needs to be supported in a sustainable manner. I am not in a place in my life where I can set up a complex and expensive emailing integration. So for now, Substack will need to do, to make sure what I and the team are working on, gets to you, reliably.
For Those Who Don’t Know
But what the heck is SK NEXUS? one may ask reasonably.
Well, SK NEXUS started as my passion project – passion for sharing knowledge based on execution, based on real experiences.
There’s a severe gap for content relevant to the people around me and I wanted to help fill that need.
In the age where most local publications call 200-word generated spam articles ‘journalism’ - there is a need for content, based on real values.
Years ago, it started as a simple blog – years later, it’s evolving to cover more.
So is this journalism?- not really.
What it is, is an active effort to teach, learn, and grow together across the domains of tech and career.
We’re not claiming to be journalists, but are are claiming to be the change that the local content ecosystem needs.
For what it’s worth, we stand by 3 core principles:
Relentless Execution - Everything we talk about, write about, record about - needs to be based on execution, based on personal experiences.
Ruthless Prioritization - We prioritize value over quantity. We are not here to make a dime, but to create change, that requires sacrifice.
Ravenous Curiosity - We want to promote learning and curiosity. A bunch of folks writing a couple of blogs can’t change the ecosystem. But if we can change you, we can change everyone around you.
Simply put -
Tell them and they forget, teach them and they may remember, involve them and they learn.
So what is everything we are up to?
We’ve done a lot in past, but moving forward the core focus is on 2 types of content:
Nexus → Our tech blog covering tech topics → https://sknexus.com/nexus
Workshops → Our career workshops covering upskilling content →
But if you really wanna invest some hours, we would suggest you go through our backlog and other verticals:
Community → https://sknexus.com/thewanderingpro
Tech Podcast → https://sknexus.com/techmadefun
Career Blog → https://sknexus.com/career
Resources → https://sknexus.com/resources

How Can You Support
This isn’t and will never be a profit making venture.
As it stands, thousands of hours have already been sunk over the years working on various initiatives.
But, if you do care about publications like this, and do want to support and help them sustain, you can do so in 3 ways:
1 - Read and interact: Subscribe to the various channels, engage with them. This is the best thing you can do. At the end of the day, if you don’t like what we do, it does not matter. And the only way we know that you like this is if you tell us, so drop a comment below.
2 - Share with others: As mentioned, this is not something we can change alone, your influence plays a big role on creating a larger shift here. We need more valuable content, and you sharing that, helps unlock more possibilities for it to exist.
3 - Vote with your Wallet: No, I don’t plan to become a millionaire writing blogs - but the money does help pay bills. Designers who help design, writers who contribute to the platform, tools costs, so on, so forth. Every dollar counts, and allows me to grow this bigger and better.
I will be seeing you around.
