Interesting, tho imo using another OS like ZorinOS is a better idea since it can be used for Linux gaming quite optimally and has tons of community support in helping you figure out errors easily. Would recommend using it until official SteamOS support is launched for your PC.

Under the hood it's just Proton and Desktop Environment of your choice, Use what your heart desires :)
I wish balenaEtcher was better with decompressing that image. I tried with it and it took unusual amount of time to flash.
I then just went with command in the install instructions.
